(April 24, 2017) Lexington, Neb.Dawson Public Power District will host its open house on Thursday, May 4. The event, scheduled from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., will be held at the District’s headquarters in Lexington located just south of the Platte River. The physical address is 75191 Road 433.
The event will highlight Dawson PPD’s 80 years of service with the burial of a time capsule. The time capsule will be placed in a junction box, a piece of electrical equipment typically containing electric wires, and will be sealed until the District’s 100th anniversary in 2037.
Other event activities include a free pulled pork sandwich meal, bucket truck rides, facility tours and an electrical safety demonstration.
Dawson PPD’s open house is co-hosted with the Lexington Chamber of Commerce as a business after hours event.
