If you’re looking for new ways to “electrify” your energy savings, Dawson PPD’s newest incentive may be just up your alley. Those who own, or are considering owning, an electric vehicle are invited to participate in the electric vehicle charging station pilot program. Participants will receive a $200 incentive to install a ChargePoint charging station in their home in exchange for sharing energy consumption data.
As the electric vehicle industry continues to gain momentum, electric utilities need to understand its impact. Dawson PPD and its wholesale provider, Nebraska Public Power District, will use the participant’s energy consumption data to research electrical load growth and better implement strategies to maintain and improve utility infrastructure.
To receive the incentive, participants must install a ChargePoint 240V 32A WIFI connected charging station in their home. This charging station retails between $650-750 as of press time. The program requires this specific charging station because it is the only manufacturer that has agreed to collect and release usage data to electric utilities with a signed consent from the customer.
More information about the Electric Vehicle Charging Station Pilot Program is available at DawsonPower.com under the Rebates tab, or by calling Energy Services Specialist Bobby Johnson at 308-324-2386.
