General Manager

April features two key dates for Dawson Public Power District: Lineworker Appreciation Day on April 13 and Administrative Professionals Day on April 22. These roles are both vital to our 89-year history of public power.

Our lineworkers are often described as the superheroes of the utility world. While most of us seek shelter from Nebraska’s unpredictable storms, these dedicated individuals move toward the danger, ready to defend our communities from outages. Whether it’s midnight in a blizzard or a humid summer afternoon, they work tirelessly with specialized equipment and high-voltage lines to restore power and normalcy for everyone.

However, even a superhero needs a reliable sidekick. Behind every mile of line is a complex web of professionals who ensure that the district runs smoothly.

Our engineers and designers map out the most efficient builds for power lines and substations. The IT and communications teams keep us connected and informed, while customer service and energy efficiency experts help our customers manage their usage. The warehouse staff manage critical inventory and the mechanics keep our fleet running. Our finance, payroll, and billing departments maintain operational stability so business continues without disruption.

By working closely together, every team member contributes to our core mission: to provide safe, reliable, and affordable electrical power.

This partnership is what makes public power unique. We aren’t just providing a service; we are neighbors serving neighbors. It is a mission carried out with immense pride, ensuring that our corner of the world remains powered by affordable and dependable electricity.

To our lineworkers and our administrative staff: thank you for your dedication.

To our customers: thank you for allowing us to serve you for nearly nine decades. We are proud to be your local power provider, and we look forward to many more years of keeping the lights on together.
