About The STEM Scholarship

Dawson PPD offers one STEM Scholarship annually, worth $2,000. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The Dawson PPD STEM Scholarship is available to applicants pursuing a degree in a STEM-related field at any accredited college, university, trade school or community college.

Examples of qualified STEM fields are (but not limited to):

Engineering

Geographic information systems (GIS)

Physical sciences

Accounting

Computer programming

Telecommunications

A graduating high school senior that lives within Dawson PPD’s territory boundaries or listed towns below.

A currently enrolled college student whose parents/guardians live within Dawson PPD’s territory boundaries.

Applicants and/or their parent/guardian(s) must reside within Dawson PPD territory boundaries or in one of the following towns:

Cozad

Eddyville

Elm Creek

Elwood

Eustis

Farnam

Gibbon

Gothenburg

Hershey

Awarding of the scholarship

The scholarship recipient shall receive a letter of notice by May 1.

The funds will be paid directly to the recipient upon their successful completion of the first semester or quarter after the awarded scholarship date with a grade point average of 2.0 or better, based on a 4.0 grading system. The recipient must provide a transcript with the earned grades and proof of enrollment for the following semester or quarter. Prior recipients of this award are not eligible.

Dawson PPD offers one STEM Scholarship annually, worth $2,000. The scholarship committee may request an interview when making their final selection. Scholarship winners are not guaranteed internships or employment opportunities at Dawson PPD. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Prior recipients of this award are not eligible.
