Dawson Public Power District has awarded Landry Geiger a $1,500 STEM scholarship to further their education. Geiger is a senior at Cozad High School and is the child of Jon and Julie Geiger.

In his essay, Geiger said that he plans to study computer science and business at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. Geiger aspires to start and own a technology company.

“Earning a degree in these fields will construct the foundation necessary to one day realize my goal,” Geiger wrote.

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math. The scholarship is awarded to one student annually.

“Dawson PPD’s STEM Scholarship aims to support students who will be tomorrow’s leaders,” said Dawson PPD Communications Specialist Chelsea Gengenbach. “We appreciate the opportunity to support future entrepreneurs like Landry.”
