About The Utility Line Scholarship
The $3,000 Dawson Public Power District Utility Line Scholarship is available to applicants pursuing a degree in utility line. Applicants should be enrolled in a utility line program through any accredited college, university, trade school or community college.

What can I expect if I choose a career as a utility lineworker?
Dawson PPD offers the opportunity to ride along with a lineworker so you can see what the job entails. Contact Operations Manager Jeremy Kaiser to make arrangements. He can be reached by calling 308-324-2386 or email jkaiser (at) dawsonpower.com.
Class sizes are limited in utility line programs. Dawson PPD advises those interested in enrolling to contact schools as early as possible.
Awarding of the scholarship
The scholarship recipient shall receive a letter of notice by May 1.
The funds will be paid directly to the recipient upon their successful completion of the first semester or quarter after the awarded scholarship date with a grade point average of 2.0 or better, based on a 4.0 grading system. The recipient must provide a transcript with the earned grades and proof of enrollment for the following semester or quarter. Prior recipients of this award are not eligible.
The fine print
Dawson PPD offers one Utility Line Scholarship annually, worth $3,000. The scholarship committee may request an interview when making their final selection. Scholarship winners are not guaranteed internships or employment opportunities at Dawson PPD. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Prior recipients of this award are not eligible.
