Customer identity theft prevention is a subject that Dawson PPD takes seriously. A policy is in place for employees to verify the account owner(s) before disclosing information.
“In the fight against spammers and other unlawful acts, Dawson PPD has put safeguards in place to protect customer information,” said Lori Christner, Supervisor of Consumer Accounts. “That’s why we will only share information with someone whose name is listed on the account.”
Listing all necessary parties on an account ensures that both the customer and Dawson PPD can quickly share information. For example, if only one spouse is listed on the account and the other wishes to call and inquire about their bill, Dawson PPD will not be able to discuss. Another example is if an adult child is assisting their parents with bill payment and account management. Their name must be on the account to access information such as billing history and energy usage.
To add another account owner*, complete an application for service. This can be done in-person at the office, online at DawsonPower.com or by calling 308-324-2386 and requesting an application to be mailed to them.
*Note: All parties listed as account owners are financially responsible for billing statements and any other fees.
