We’re committed to delivering reliable electricity to you. That’s why we recently replaced a transmission line switch that had reached its service limit. While the original switch served us well for 40+ years, proactive maintenance identified the need for an upgrade.
These switches play a vital role in our power grid. They allow us to reroute electricity for faster restoration during widespread outages and ensure the safety of our lineworkers during maintenance on sub-transmission lines.
Dawson PPD’s investment in a new 90-foot digger derrick proved to be instrumental in this project. Originally scheduled for a specific date, we were able to reschedule the switch replacement to avoid impacting irrigation customers who needed to water their crops.
This flexibility not only benefits our customers but also translates to cost savings for Dawson PPD. By utilizing our own equipment and skilled crew, we eliminated the need to hire an external crane company for the switch installation.
We are dedicated to maintaining a reliable and efficient power grid by investing in infrastructure and equipment to deliver the exceptional service you depend on.
